Schott Limousin Ranch Announces 2014 Scholership
$1800.00 The Value of Cattle SA Contest.
Schott Limousin strives to be an
integral part of the surrounding communities. They have hosted various ranch
site seminars, they have tried to educate their customers on the “Value of
Cattle” and of course the value of the Limousin Breed. With these thoughts in mind, Schott Limousin
once again, wants to give back to the community and encourage not only our “Cattle”
friendly customers but others in your communities as well.
The
top 2 Applicants will win a split of $1800.00 to be applied to the furthering
of their education after High School. The splits will be $1000.00 for first place
and $800.00 for second place respectively. The top 12 SA finalists will have their SA’s
submitted to be published in their hometown newspapers and posted on the www.schottranch.com website. In addition, the top 2 scholorship winners
will have their SA’s submitted for publication in the Limousin World (national
circulation), Heartbeat Associations (regional publication).
Tentatively we are looking for
applicants who excel in the following areas and meet the following criteria the
closest.
1. Any applicant from the counties Schott
Limousin sells bulls into. (Listed after our 2014 Sale and including any
student in that county regardless of their affiliation with Ag or Schott
Limousin Ranch)
2. Applicants who demonstrate their desire to
give back to the community.
3. The SA will be an approximately 500 words
submitted in the form of a PDF on the “Value of Cattle”.
4. Each SA will be evaluated on Style /
Creativity / Accuracy / and of course spelling and grammar.

Schott Ranch Limousin is pleased to announce that graduate students from
South Dakota State University Department of Animal Science will be
reviewing and selecting the semi-finalist for the Schott Ranch Limousin
Scholarship. The finalist
will be selected by 5 individuals respected in the cattle industry
including: Dr. Tom Fields, University of Nebraska; Dr. Ken Odde, Kansas
State University, Dr. Joe Cassady, South Dakota State University, Mr.
Kevin Oxner, Cattlemen to Cattlemen and Robin
Salverson, South Dakota State University.
